Gary Holt
has been a studio potter in Berkeley, Calilfornia for nearly thirty years. He has taught and given workshops extensively in California, and has exhibited his work in the U.S., Japan, and Korea. He is known for his rich and varied glazes, and for his ability to join a strong interest in asian esthetics with his own personal and contemporary style

I have new soluble salt pieces that came out looking really nice. You can view them by going to the "Fresh from the Kiln" page!

Soluble salts are just the water-soluble forms (nitrates, chlorides, and sulfates) of the metals that give color in ceramic glazes. They can be used like watercolor to paint directly on a clay surface (without any glaze), and can give quite unusual effects."
